SAB – Sky’s the Limit Competition

South American Bean would like to thank everyone who helped in raising $750 dollars for the Sony Foundation’s You Can program at the Compak Golden Bean Awards night.
The appropriately themed Aviator – Top Gun night saw the Sky’s the Limit competition complete with Balsa wood aeroplane pilots testing out their flying skills. The aim was to land closest to the MPM take away cup placed on the specially designed 10 metre long SAB runway.

Some fantastic prizes where up for grabs including a Compak K3 Touch grinder, SAB specialty beans – La Norena Colombia, a gift pack from Coffee Roasters Australia and a Melbourne Coffee Tour with Maria Paoli.

The competition brought out some great flying and some super long flights as well as some planes finding their mark off course into the crowd.

John Hennessey from Hennessey Coffee landed the top prize and took home the Compak grinder. Nathan Byron from Nat’s Coffee scored the SAB Colombian green beans.

SAB was happy to see their friends having a great time during the event, some taken back to their childhood with the fun of building and gliding their planes.

We are very glad to donate the proceeds to the Sony Foundations You Can program supporting young people who have been affected by cancer.  See full story here

Thank you again,

The SAB Team
