Stokes Lane Café is set in a 1926 building, bringing extra charm and history to the coffee destination. Frequented by a friend living locally, I was taken to the cute café for the consistent quality coffee and friendly atmosphere. Originally operated as the first shop to serve ice cream to the community of Bulli, now owner/barista Samuel prides his business on being local and supporting his local community.
Opening only 14 months ago, the bustling café is a popular stop before embarking up the beautiful Bulli Pass. Samuel churns out 60 kg of coffee, which keeps him and his nine staff quite busy. The all day breakfast and lunch menu is simple and provides favourites that the locals return for, and the kids’ menu lets the whole family have time out.
The open layout complements the casual and relax dining décor; to my delight, I could access my own fresh water from the filtration system.
The La Mazocco machine lined the bench with Puq Press and Espresso Italiano Grinders to ensure the perfect Campos espresso every time.
For an alternative option, they serve T2 teas and mixture of cold drinks, smoothies and frappés.
Our Saturday morning stop off was a mixed delight; while I enjoyed my Campos piccolo with granola and yoghurt, my partner in crime sampled the smashed avocado with poached eggs. Next time I am in town I will definitely be back to try the chilli pork roll.
Located off the Princess Hwy, it is an easy stop off to grab a good coffee, so make sure you pop in and say hi to Samuel and the crew.
