Thinking of starting a business? Or maybe you’re in the early phases of operating? Setting up your own business is exciting, but it can be challenging if you’re not prepared.

We spoke to business owners across the country and they told us it’s difficult to work out what tasks are required, and what tasks are optional, when starting a business in Australia – the Starting a Business Guide takes away that mystery. That’s why we’ve developed a step-by-step guide that walks you through the process of starting a business.

Starting a Business Guide

The Starting a Business Guide is an online tool that will help you:

  • prepare, plan and make key decisions for your business
  • understand business and tax registrations
  • set up your operations
  • prepare your finances
  • protect your business.

In creating the Guide, the business.gov.au team worked closely with Australian business owners and experts to make sure it was easy to use, and included all of the information needed when starting a business in Australia.

Are you in the business of helping business? Spread the word and refer your clients or new business owners in Australia to the Starting a Business Guide!

Start smart, and check out business.gov.au’s new Starting a Business Guide!
