The Brisbane café scene is changing all the time, and on a recent trip I visited Elixir Coffee Roasting House and HQ Lounge to say hello to the two brothers behind the coffee brand and check out a few different blends.
Since opening the Elixir Coffee HQ in 2009, Elixir Coffee has become a serious Brisbane coffee destination, with a loyal following of people returning as much for the coffee as the bites from its on-site café.
Maintaining its local roots in Brisbane by ensuring all of its roasting remains on site at the company’s headquarters in Stafford on the city’s northside, Elixir Coffee Roasting House and HQ Lounge has undergone refurbishment and expansion earlier this year, tripling their size and creating an “urban” feel in its warehouse style café.
Elixir serves an all-day breakfast and lunch menu that consists of some all-time favourites plus seasonal dishes such as Apple Crumble Pancakes, Roar Brekky and The Haloumi Stack (which looked tempting, but there’s only so much your correspondent can try in one day)!
Elixir Coffee is a multi-national and international award winning coffee roasting house, with famous blends such as their Narciso, Fratelli and Espresso. For lovers of a more medium to full bodied cup, the Narciso blend has the syrup-like consistency and sweetness of maple syrup, with a balanced blend of dark berry fruit acidity and delicate cinnamon spice – sweet and smooth.
The Elixir brothers live true to their mantra that coffee is a way of life, consuming over four cups a day themselves, from ristrettos to piccolos!
It’s definitely worth a visit, so stop by Elixir HQ Espresso Lounge, where you can enjoy a delicious bite to eat, fast and friendly service, and of course, a great cup of coffee.
