The Federal Government’s decision to bring forward the 2016 Budget will hit Brisbane’s café industry hardest.
Unfortunately, Café Biz Brisbane has been forced to move its roadshow from May 4th to May 11th. The change comes despite extensive negotiations with venue host the Royal National Association at the Brisbane Showgrounds since this week’s budget announcement by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
“The Showgrounds made it clear to us that the annual Budget breakfast took precedent over our booking, so the only viable option was to move the date back one week,” says Café Biz’s Jeff Dutton.
“It’s a really tricky situation, and one that we’ve been working to get on top of straight away by contacting exhibitors and those who have preregistered to advise them of the change.”
Despite the delay, the company’s director said he “absolutely couldn’t wait” for this year’s event “because we’re going to be helping businesses to grow profitably in line with new trends and the newest products on the market.”
