Andy’s love for music landed him in Melbourne where he worked as head barista at several specialty cafes to support himself. That dual passion found him at renowned cafes such as The Grocery Bar, Eden Espresso and Hoboken. Here he found a knack and strong interest in training and developing staff, which him to segue into training for Moccopan and ultimately a five-year stint at Five Senses Coffee.

With his growing expertise as well as influence in the industry, Andy has developed one of the leading barista training programs in Australia.

“I became a Q grader and facilitated the Q course program while also organising and judging the Brewers Cup VIC regional and then nationals for two years running. From there I had a powerful Origin experience in Bali while creating some positive change for that business and their strong customer base.”

These experiences and opportunities cemented Andy’s path as well as his involvement with Grinders.
