Australian technology to help small businesses – Chef Cluster

Australian technology to help small businesses hire commercial kitchen spaces launches today as Chefs Cluster

Sydney, 28 November 2019:Chefs Cluster, a new technology platform addressing kitchen-sharing in Australia, has officially launched today to help businesses across Australia find and hire a short-term cooking space that is right for them.

Chefs Cluster is the brainchild of three friends and entrepreneurs, Dina Gofman, Inna Kiner and Polina Ross seeking to make the food production journey easier for Australian small businesses.

“There is currently a lack of available cooking spaces for short term and immediate rental for small food businesses,” explains co-founder Dina.
“Chefs are looking for commercial kitchens and want a simple digital way to find and manage their cooking space. They’re doing everything to find such spaces in an easy manner, however,  licenced commercial kitchen spaces are often inside spaces like – restaurants, pubs, clubs, universities and community spaces (ie churches) – and are not currently available for individuals to rent.”

This is the challenge Chefs Cluster is looking to solve to help the local food industry thrive.

The trio set out to build Chefs Cluster – an online platform that allows cooking spaces to be listed for free by commercial kitchens or by underutilised community / commercial spaces. Kitchens can list their space for short term hire and chefs can easily search, book and manage their cooking space in Chefs Cluster.

“There are such a broad range of food businesses and chefs who need cooking spaces but don’t necessarily have the means to take out a lease of their own. As a food business myself, finding the right space was incredibly difficult,” recounts co-founder Inna.

“We’re here to solve a real problem that so many smaller food businesses have. And it’s a win-win for kitchens too, as more people using their space means extra revenue for the kitchen, rather than it sitting there underutilised. It can also make a real difference to some kitchen’s bottom lines.”

Chefs Cluster is directly aimed at helping small-to-medium food businesses to succeed in starting out and expanding, reducing the barriers to entry to a highly competitive and complex market.
