Café Biz Brisbane – Panel Discussion: Success by learning from others.
Tim Adams has his finger on the pulse of southeast Queensland’s coffee scene. As part of Café Talks, he will descend from his Sunshine Coast base to share his specialised knowledge of success.
Tim has an impressive drive to succeed – after just a few years in the industry, he began entering a range of state, national and international barista competitions. In 2009, he claimed victory in the AustralAsian Specialty Coffee Association (AASCA) Queensland Barista Championship. Tim then went on to be crowned AASCA 2009 Australian Barista Champion, a coveted title recognised around the globe.
In conjunction with wife Katie and business partners James and Angela Pedrazzini, Tim has gone on to launch Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar on the Sunshine Coast, which is fast earning a reputation as one of the state’s premier coffee destinations and now trains the next generation of baristas. Tim Adams Specialty Coffee also operates a mobile espresso van in the region, selling its own range of specialty coffee blends at both a retail and wholesale level.
Tim’s success has come from hard work combined with a keen mind and a willingness to add to his specialist skills. At Café Talks he will address the café industry’s rapid growth to over 4 billion cups solds per year, and help people understand that success can be achieved in impressive fashion.
