This day is an opportunity to stoke that fire in your belly and network and meet with industry professionals as well as continue to build on, further enhance and explore your skills and knowledge in the blazing world of coffee roasting!
Instead of skyping in (like last year!) we thought it would be awesome to have Rob here with us, IN PERSON, so we could spend some quality time soaking up his passion and knowledge for coffee roasting, as Rob has a wealth of information to share from his years of experience as a barista and roaster.
Also an independent coffee roasting consultant as well as the director of coffee for Nossa Familia Coffee, Rob is the famed author of the book “Modulating the Flavor Profile of Coffee: One Roaster’s Manifesto.”
At EQMR we (& many roasters around the world) really appreciate and love Rob’s approach to coffee roasting as he has a very deep understanding based on sound investigation, of which he is adept at then directing his findings into comprehensive, useful approaches that anyone can integrate into their roasting production.
So, with a jam packed day of Lectures, Discussion, Networking, Exploration & Cupping Analysis from 8.30am-5pm, we hope you take the opportunity, whilst he is here in Melbourne, to come and learn from Rob (& Anne!) on the following topics which will be presented:
* Basics of Coffee Physically and Chemically
* Heat Transfer & Thermocouples in Coffee Roasters
* Modulating the Flavor Profile of Coffee
* Can You Taste the Roasting System
* Roasting Techniques/Forum Discussion & Beer!
It will be the same lectures presented on both dates, so just choose a date (either the 20th or 21st March) that suits! Lunch & Everything else required for the day is provided! Bookings via Eventbrite, search for – FIRESTARTER: A Day of Roasting Lectures with Rob Hoos & Roastress Coops
