Ladies and gentlemen, the 2016 Northern Territory Breezy Master has been crowned and it is Julian Mou of Harriet ExPresso Bar!

The Darwin local claimed victory from Café Del’ Art’s Sunny Singh in the final, with Pouya Khoshtarash from The Pearl taking home third prize.

Thanks to Almond Breeze Australia, Mou took home $1000 and will head to Sydney in October to compete in the grand final for the title of Grand Breezy Master and an all expenses paid trip to North America.

The excited Territory Breezy Master said her experience competing at smack downs and the 2015 World’s Richest Barista Competition helped with her nerves. “But knowing the format and rules and being prepared is probably the key to this win,” she added.

“This competition brought all the coffee people together at a great social event, and having Café Biz and Almond Breeze Australia and Compak team up here helps draws more attention and attraction, including the prizes.

“With that, baristas have more incentive to push themselves to the next level or put their hands up to compete. It’s also great for cafe owners to discover any talents out there or even just supporting their own baristas to grow their knowledge in the coffee industry.”
