The Compak Golden Bean Australia is turning 10 and this years’ event will be held in Newcastle. “Newy” is NSW second largest city, home to many of Australia’s leading café / coffee roasting businesses and is in close proximity to the Hunter Valley wine region. Easy access including direct flights from Melbourne and Brisbane and just a short drive up the freeway from Sydney.
The Compak Golden Bean strives to find Australia’s best coffee roasters with medals awarded across a number of different brewing methods. All coffees entered into the competition are blind tasted with many processes incorporated into the event to protect the identity of the bean… it’s what’s in the cup that matters! In addition, judging, scoring and comments are provided to competitors to give independent feedback on each coffee submitted.
As well as entering your coffees we urge you represent your business at the conference to:
• Get involved in the judging process
• Participate in the industry workshops
• Network with your roasting peers
• Network with Green Bean wholesalers, do all your cupping and procure all your GREEN Bean at one place.
Put this in your calendar… it’s the most caffeinated event in the Australian Coffee Industry.
