A stab in the dark took us to this petite little German bakery serving up all sorts of magnificent treats! For a homely little nook, there’s a good scattering of tables without being too cramped.
Don’t be enticed by the sweets in the window display, there’s a lunch menu that you must check out first. The delight of the day was the Brezel Croissant with prosciutto, avocado, tomato, and a delectable home made chutney. The slightly more savoury version of the croissant, and the gorgeously simple combination of flavours left me wanting to order another right there and then. While my meat loving husband indulged in the Wurst Board consisting of an array of deli meats, cooked bratwurst, sourdough, butter, German mustard and again that amazing chutney. Our accompanying tropical fruit smoothies were also a big winner fora hot day in the middle of summer! Next time we will be back to try the coffee.
Situated neatly between Pittwater Road and Manly beach a short walk from the Corso, blink and you’ll miss it, so make sure you keep your eyes wide open for this little hole-in-the-wall gem.
