Breezey Masters

2018 Breezey Masters Latte Art Competition enjoys a wildly successful 2nd heat in Perth

The WA heat for Breezey Masters 2018 made for an intense spectacle on the evening of May 30th. Once again we had a fantastic turnout of 20 competitors fighting for their place in November’s Melbourne Grand Final.

We were extremely lucky to be hosted by FiOri Coffee in the Swan Valley, with a gorgeous venue in the Oakover winery grounds.

The standard of the competition was astonishing, with those coming 2nd, 3rd and 4th being within 2.5 points of each other (out of a possible 150!) Our judges were extremely impressed, and would like to congratulate every competitor for their stellar performances.

Special mention goes to Andy Tseng of FiOri Coffee for 4th place, missing out by a mere 1.5 points on a podium position.

3rd place, and a limited edition Reg Barber tamper, went to Ethan Son of Cherry and Grapes.

2nd place, and the wonderful prize of a Pentair water filtration system (very useful for Perthian water!) went to Joy Kim of Deli Chicchi.

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the Western Australia Heat was Vicky Chuaybamrung of Mary Street Bakery! Vicky scored the highest in every round, giving her a decisive and very well deserved victory.

Thanks to Brett Bolwell of Barista Technology, Vicky walked away with the grand prize of a Puqpress Q2 on top of the trophy and a place in the Breezey Masters Grand Final.

For our other competitors, there is still another chance to compete. Just enter your finest latte art video at http://www.latteartvideochallenge.com/ for a chance to win cash prizes and a place in the Breezey Masters Grand Final!

Sincere thanks go out to Almond Breeze for their iconic Barista Blend and support on site, as well as their Australian distributor Freedom Foods.

Almond Breeze Barista Blend is the perfect tool when creating unique latte art and is highly regarded by Australian baristas due to its ability to stretch and pour.

The Almond Breeze Australia & New Zealand manager Michael McNulty was once again blown away by the standard of the competition, with many pours being indistinguishable from whole milk latte art.

Special thanks go to Reg Barber, Pentair and Puqpress for providing the incredible prizes for our contestants.
