The Di Bella Coffee label has earned another huge award with roaster Raihaan Esat becoming the Queensland Breezy Master thanks to Almond Breeze Australia.

All the action went down on Tuesday night at Extraction Artisan Coffee on the Gold Coast, with Raihaan claiming victory from Kayla Hanna (Kayla’s Specialty Coffee) and Abrisca Coffee’s Jayed Kim finishing in third.

Raihaan took home his Reg Barber-made trophy and $1000 and will head to Sydney in October to compete in the grand final for the title of Grand Breezy Master and an all expenses paid trip to North America.

He admitted to being “a little bit nervous” before the competition. “But the format was really cool and engaging, and challenging. It was more reflective of the challenges you face daily in a café.”

While he hadn’t worked with Almond Breeze Barista Blend much in the past, he found it “really, really easy to work with. It was a pleasure to work with because whatever I wanted to do in the cup I felt confident I could do, and I did.”
