Another successful coffee networking event: This inaugural event took place at First Pour in Brisbane’s West End on Saturday 28 September. Three finalists completed for the glory battling out against each other in front of a crowd of 50 passionate coffee lovers. Raihaan Esat from DiBella Coffee Queensland won this event with his unique performance using infused herbs and fruits including coffee berries in a syphon for his specialty drink. Deb Finlay from Toowoomba came a close 2nd with junior barista champion Bianca from the Gold Coast 3rd place.
An impromptu latte art smackdown became a popular entertainment piece for the coffee mob with twelve competitors competing for the carton of James Squire Beer. The final three contestants were requested by the judges to do a “Swan Off” and the winner was Michael Oo owner of Two Moos Specialty Coffee in Toowoomba.
The gathering was the perfect opportunity to officially launch Café Biz Brisbane taking place in March 2014. Café Culture has strong ties with the QLD Coffee Community and is excited about the prospect of moving the event to Brisbane.
Mark you calendars for CAFE BIZ 15 & 16 March 2014 @ Brisbane Showground.
I would personally like to thank the following sponsors for their industry support James Squire, Crop DEL Monte, Veneziano Coffee Roasters, Bite Size Treats and QLD Coffee Community.
