You’re going to buy your morning coffee anyway, so why not buy it with a box of cereal?
Cereal for Coffee is a Brisbane based non for profit company responsible for the coordination of this unique trade. Twice a year customers can donate a box of cereal at their local participating cafe for a free cup of coffee.
Since it’s inaugural campaign in September 2015 Cereal for Coffee has expanded from nine cafes in two suburbs to 46 cafes across the greater Brisbane area. The result: 2,300 boxes of cereal and 400 cartons of long life milk donated to local school breakfast clubs and community groups that help those most in need.
With 1 in 5 Australian children going to school without breakfast and 1 in 6 Australians experiencing food insecurity at least once in 12 months there is a definite need*.
