I went on the Café Culture Study tour of the China Coffee Market 2 years ago.
As a part of the tour, I attended the Shanghai Hotelex trade show, exhibited Alchemy products on the café culture stand, met with buyers and saw the many exhibitors focussed on the very dynamic and rapidly growing coffee sector across China, and had the benefit of Café Culture interpreters for buyer discussions which was invaluable.
Beyond the trade show, David Parnham took us on numerous café tours to see how the café market is evolving and the incredibly dynamic Chinese city of Shanghai, with all of its charms and delights.
I and I can confidently say, the other delegates were very well looked after by David and his team, such that there were no challenges with language, transport, connections or getting around, in fact they made it very easy.
It was eye opening, exciting and a little daunting to see the size of the market, and to see up close some of the challenges that any Australian company will face in entering the Chinese market. IN our case, we decided it would take 2 years to be ready to enter this market seriously, and for that whole time, David has followed up, offered insights, connections and a way to reach out to the Chinese Coffee market via the Café Culture network.
I consider it to have been a very worthwhile investment, and recommend it to any café or coffee business serious about investigating the Chinese market.
