As the day began, coffee entries for the Compak Golden Bean Coffee Roasters Competition and Conference have now closed, and the first coffee judging session was under way! Port Macquarie has put on some marvelous weather for our ‘out-of-town’ guests with a sparkling explosion of sunshine predicted for the rest of the week.
The first delegates on the scene were last night treated to some pre-event drinkies at the recently established Australasian Cafe School, just around the corner. With some beer and wine free flowing, the barriers of time were surpassed as old coffee friends reunited. Thanks so much to James from Pura / Dairy Farmers (pictured below with Cafe Culture Sales Manager, Chrissie) for hosting such a great introduction night to our event.
After a seminar from Ned Schepis of Just Coffee Insurance, and our second coffee judging session, tonight our caffeinated friends will be refreshed once again at The Beach House, the bar with the best view in town, overlooking the magnificent Hastings River. There might even be a little surprise from tonight’s sponsor Just Coffee Insurance.
