Melbourne’s Premier Street gets a Serving of the Mobile Food Variety
The Food Truck Park™ to roll out pop-up activation on Collins Street.
What do you get when you cross a bright open space with exceptional street food? A delicious Food Truck Park pop-up on Collins Street, that’s what.
For a limited time beginning November 7, the top end of Collins Street will welcome a range of trendy rotating food trucks to the ‘Paris-end’ part of town.
The pop-up food hub will operate for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offer a daily rotation of one-off culinary truck delights each and every day from Monday – Friday.
Brought together by Frank Rusitovski and Dean Trpeski of the Australian Mobile Food Vendors Group and supported by the City of Melbourne, this activation is the key to centralised street-food dining in Melbourne.
“The City of Melbourne has been a long-time supporter of the dynamic food truck culture, and we’re pleased to see this site on Collins Street come alive over spring and summer. There’s always a distinct buzz in the city during the busy pre-Christmas season, and these ‘pop-up’ parks offer shoppers and city workers the chance to enjoy good food in the sun,” says Lord Mayor Robert Doyle.
Together with their league of extraordinary food truck collaborators, on rotation daily, including Greek St Food, Smokin’ Barry’s and Real Burgers in the line-up, Frank and Dean are looking forward to activating Collins Street.
“We’re delighted by the opportunity to bring some vibrancy to the essence of Melbourne that is Collins Street,” says Director Frank Rusitovski.
“For us, this project is another fantastic example of the partnership and ongoing relationship between the City of Melbourne and the Mobile Food Industry,” says Operations Director, Dean Trpeski. “We’re excited to be able to provide a beautiful outdoor space with gourmet delights from some of our best food trucks and have no doubt it will be the new favourite hangout for the Melbourne community to congregate in.”
The Food Truck Park™ is an initiative managed by AMFVG, who have been bringing food trucks together in unique event spaces across Australia since 2014.
“This is a chance to transform a vacant space into a community destination for foodie and soak in the good vibes while sampling some interesting eats,” says Dean.
